I moved to Popley from across the road in Palmers Close Oakridge when I was 7 months old in 1971. I went to Merton Infants and on to Merton Juniors from 1975-1981. I then attended The Vyne School from 1981-1986 and then on to further education at BCOT. I moved to Winklebury in Aug 1997 and moved back home to Popley August 2011.

I have been involved with Popley Matters since the end of 1996 when a few of us residents got together to try to improve the image of Popley. It was suggested that we should revive The Popley Matters. We started to do some research and find out how we could achieve it. We had to raise some funds so that we could print one. By the time we got things in order it was May 1997 when the first one was printed and delivered. I do all the artwork and design and layout of the Popley Matters Magazine and I am now writing a website as well. I have been an active committee member of Popley Forum since 96. I also serve on Popley Partnerships, a John Hunt of Everest School governor since August 2004, I am an Oakfern resident forum member and on the Sentinel Housing Group Board Dec 04.

I am a Basingstoke and Deane Borough Councillor for the Popley West Ward since 2002, prior to when the new boundaries were formed in 2002. I was Councillor for all of Popley first being elected in 1999. then when the new bouneries were drawn in 2002 I was elected as the Councillor for Popley West. On the council I serve on committees for Licensing, Environment Overview, Environment Policy Panel, Scrutiny and the Constitution Working Party.

In my leisure time I am a keen follower of Ice hockey and I support the local teams Basingstoke Bison and Basingstoke Buffalo
